Can Ciprofloxacin Be Stopped Abruptly?

I have a prescription of Ciprofloxacin HCL that I received last week while away from home where I will never see that Dr. again. I do not like the drowsiness I am getting. I have taken five of the ten days and have not had any stomach issues since starting the drug. What are the dangers of not completing the remainder of the medication?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

If you start a antibiotic treatment is better to complete the therapy because you can be resistant to antibiotics .and you are not going to recover from the disease you are treating for. I suggest you complete the therapy or at least use ciprofloxacin for 7 days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Blerina Pasho, General & Family Physician
