Can Clarithromycin Be Used For Tooth And Jaw Infection?
Can CLARITHROMYCIN (BIAXIN 500MG) for a tooth/jaw infection? I know you have to be careful what to say or not to say, I just don t have dental insurance, and can t afford to go to the dentist till I get my taxes back, but right now I know I have an infection and I have a full, new prescription, please tell me that it can be used for the infection. Thank you in advance for your time and advice. Chrissie Bergen
As per your query Clarithromycin can be taken for dental infections in case where there is penicillin resistance or allergy to the patient.
It can be taken in dental conditions like abscesses, wisdom tooth infections, post operative antibiotic cover etc.
But you should understand one thing that any antibiotic if taken without proper consultation to the doctor who has taken your complete medical history can be harmful for your body..
As clarithromycin is not advised in a variety of heart and liver diseases.
I would suggest you to consult a doctor before you proceed for taking any medicine.
Hope your query is solved..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora
