Can Clindamycin And Bactrim Be Taken Together?

Can clindamycin and bactrim be taken at same time. I had a cath in for three weeks do to bacterial prosttitis it was removed five days ago and I got a fever 102 last night which broke with a round of bactrim and tylenol.. I stopped bactrim right after cath removal. they put me on Levaquin which was not tolerated and then a course of doxycyline until two weeks into cath got a uti. which they prescribed the bactrim for.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are wondering if Clindamycin and Bactrim be taken together . Well there clindamycin ( Aminoglycoside , lincosamide group of antibiotics ) while bacterim is cotrimoxazole ( together these i.e .bacterim act as bacterocidal ) .These two type of antibiotics don't interact with each other , so it is safe to take these together. But if you counter any problem like nausea , abdominal discomfort and vomiting , Because both can cause gastric problems then consult doctor and discuss the condition with him .
