Can Co-codamol Show False Positive For Cocaine In A Drug Test?
I got my partner to take a drugs test this morning. It came back positive for cocaine and it also looked quite positive for morphine. I have always suspected cocaine but now he is trying to blame it all on a few cocodamol. Is it possible for the test to come back 100% positive for cocaine off a few cocodamol? I ve heard it is very likely for morphine but nowhere have I read that it should affect the cocaine test? Thank you.
As per my clinical experience, the presence of Co-codamol means the level of codeine in the blood which is usually a content of the common off the counter drug formulations of cough remedies. However, the Co-codamol does not show false positive test results for that of Cocaine drug test.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
