Hello,
You have a history of
Lymphedema & now you are diagnosed to have
cellulitis. Sometimes, steroid injections manifest side effects like water retention, swelling & even low resistance to infection.
In my opinion, get physically examined, assessed & treated for Cellulitis. You will have to go through a few blood tests, culture & X-Ray. You will be treated with antibiotics or surgery depending upon the severity of the pathology detected.
Keep the foot elevated & at rest, take
Acetaminophen (
Tylenol) for pain. Wear well-fitting shoes & maintain good hygiene.
Take food that is good for immunity (Almonds,
vitamin C, spinach, yogurt, garlic/ginger, papaya, etc).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
