Dear Mohsin Abbas, Hi & Welcome.
Coversyl which contains two BP lowering medicines
Perindopril (
angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor) & Indapamide (thiazide like diuretic or water pill) is commonly prescribed to treat mild to moderate
hypertension.
Since your BP was not controlled with these medicines your treating doctor has added another BP lowering medicine Tenormin or Atenolol (which is a beta receptor blocker) for the effective control of high BP or hypertension.
Don't take Tenormin along with Coversyl at the same time, as it may cause a severe fall in BP resulting in dizziness, weakness or fainting.
Further, Tenormin may increase the risk, severity, and/or duration of
hypoglycemia (
low blood sugar) while taking Insulin. It may also mask the signs and symptoms (warning signals) of hypoglycemia during Insulin treatment.
In view of the above please consult your treating doctor and discuss about the possibilities of these interactions.
Hope these answer your query.
Regards.
