Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Due to my blood levels the nurse called and said I was to start taking Crestor 20mg. Every a.m. I am already taking Simvasti 20 mg every pm . I did not think to ask if I needed to Dc the Simvastin. Their office is closed for the the weekend . What are your thoughts regarding this. I see my doctor this coming Tuesday Thanks Pat
Both are lipid-lowering agents. Simvastatin is atorvastatin and crestor is rosuvastatin. You need to stop one as both belong to the statin group and need not take them together.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
