Can Cypon Be Given For Loss Of Appetite In A Child?
Hi. My baby girl is 8 months old, her weight is only 5.8 kg. Birth weight was 2.4 kg. Last 20 days she is not eating anything, only Brest feeding. We did urine, stool & blood test, my pediatric said all results are OK. What should we do, please suggest. Can I give cypon drop to increase the appetite?
Hello, I understand your concern. It seems like your baby is experiencing failure to thrive, which is a condition that can have many causes. Some of the reasons include infections, problems with the digestive system, swallowing problems, food allergies or metabolic disorders where the body finds it difficult to break down and take energy from food. In order to get the appropriate treatment, the pediatrician needs to go to the bottom of the problem and find out the root cause for the undernourishment in your child, so a thourough investigation would prove very likely to give you the answer. As for Cypon syrup, I strongly recommend you to NOT give it to your baby as this I a drug is a sedative and it can cause irreparable damage to your baby's brain and nervous system and also other organs. Finding the real cause for the failure to thrive is the only way of treatment. Wishing you and your baby good health and all the best.
