Hi doctor i am ZAZA in south Africa. I tried to abort my baby using cytotec when I was nine weeks preganant but with fail cos now am 36 weeks and I am worried. I was taking two tablets aurally after 12 hours. There was no too much bleeding only drops. will my baby be affected by this
Hello dear Understand your concern. Yes cytotec affects the fetal growth. It should be taken in full dose to abort the pregnancy under the advice and supervision of gynecologist. It cause cardiac, skull and face deformity in the baby. When It should be failed to abort, pregnancy should be terminated by the surgery like suction evacuation. So you should consult the gynecologist and go for USG scan to evaluate the growth and manage appropriately. But now to do surgery is very difficult as you are 36 week pregnant. I am very sad for your condition. Hope this may help you Best regards Dr. Sagar
