I had gone through a normal medical check up. In the upper abdomen sonogrophy an enlarged left kidney was noticed and was advised to do DTPA & Renal scan also CT urography and IVP. It was detected that UPJ obstruction was present. Consulted Urologist and planned for laproscopic treatment but then it was detected that I have a narrow ureter(3-4cm) from the pelvis part. A DJ STENT has been put n told to keep for a month. What to do next and if it does not open up to be normal??
Warm welcome to Healthcaremagic.com I have evaluated your query thoroughly .
* The DJ stent gives primary relief from symptoms of hydronephrosis , it does not fully treat PUJ obstruction , for which the basic pathology has to be corrected .
Hope this clears your doubt . Wishing you fine recovery .
Welcome for any further assistance . Regards take care .
