Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have surgery on my basal joint on left thumb. After I got the cast of the my joint was frozen. It has been over 4 months with lots of OT and when I returned to the surgeon he said everything was great just keep going to OT. My whole hand hurts now and the pain has started to encroach the inside of the wrist and lower arm. The pain between thumb and index finger is extremely painful. I also have De Quervain s Syndrome which did not appear until after surgery. Receied second opinion and they said it was fine as well. My thumb is at an angle, not even straight. Being fine is an unacceptable answer. Waiting for a third opinion. any ideas? I am wondering if the De Quevains has anything to do with it. Can that lock my mp joint in the straight position?
it should have been removed after 4weeks. cast was not required. weiring should have been done to fix the bones.it is to be removed and kept in reasonable position so that there is no much of problem.
