Can Dettol Be Applied On A Tongue Ulcer?

Can I use dettol to tab on my underside tongue ulcer. It has been a year after accidentally bitten my tongue. After consulting ENT specialist for several months and lastly suggested to remove it which i objected. I even had my tooth smoothen so to lessen the impact on the tongue. I even use salt water to gargle. Also try applying tumeric and orabase protective paste. Please advise. Thank you.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

An ulcer on the underside of tongue that is lasting since one year is not looking to me like the common traumatic ulcer and hence should be evaluated further..

So my suggestion to you is to consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and a thorough clinical examination and investigation like Biopsy shall be done to confirm the cause as non healing ulcer since an year can be malignant.

So you should not delay and get evaluated soon..

Hope this information helps.

Regards..
