Can Doxinate Be Taken Along With Folvite?

Hello Dr. My wife has just conceived and her doctor has prescribed two tablets Folvite in the morning and one Doxinate tablet at night. I have the following questions: 1) When is the best time to take Folvite tablet. Before breakfast (empty stomach) or after breakfast ? 2) If nausea and vomiting does not stop with one Doxinate tablet taken at night can we take second doxinate tablet in the morning? 3) If Doxinate is taken in the morning can it be combined with Folvite tablet or there should be some time gap?

Hi,
Let me first congratulate you for your wife's pregnancy. Tab.folvite contains folic acid which is very important for the development of your baby's nervous sysytem. Tab. Doxinate (doxylamine succinate and pyridoxine hydrochloride) is given to treat the nausea and vomitings of early pregnancy.
Folvite tablet can be taken any time of the day after meals.
If one dose of Doxinate is not stopping nausea and vomiting, second dose can be taken. if i were your treating doctor i would suggest your wife to take Doxinate twice daily before meals. It can safely be combined with tab. Folvite there is no need for any gap. hope this cleared your doubts. have a good health.thank you.
