Can Duphaston Be Taken To Manage Heavy Menstrual Bleeding?
Hi, I am 50 years of age. My menstruation stop last year round about November...I never menstruate up until I started using the pill again. After my divorce and met someone and started to use the pill again...and my cycle was normal again...now all of a sudden I started to menstruate again but heavy and is now is on going for 6 days... My period was never more that 4 days.. Please advise..can I start using the duphaston tablets?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
6 days is not too long to have a cycle however if it's really heavy bleeding then it should be concerned about. Causes may be many , duphostone is generally used for heavy bleeding as it helps stop bleeding so yes it can be used. However if it persists or any other problem it would be better to talk to gynaecologist to see the cause.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
