Hi, my name is Megan. I am currently taking thyroxine 50 micrograms, I have been taking it consistently for a few years now, and my dosage has never changed. I get my TSH levels checked every 3 months and they always come back good.I am a 26 year old female currently weighing 120kg, and am 172cm tall. I am gluten and lactose intolerant, and eat a pescetarian diet as my purine levels were a bit elevated a while back. I have hypothyroidism and hyperparathroidism. The medications I take are thyroxine 50 micrograms, metformin 100mg (my doctor prescribed this for weight loss 6 months ago but I have not lost any weight loss yet), antidepressants (citalopram 100mg) and I take 10,000 microunits of liquid vitamin D for my parathyroid. I have been trying again and again to lose weight but am struggling to maintain the motivation. I have researched duromine for weight loss, and would like to give this a try. I read that if your hypothyroidism is steady and the medication is the right level for you, then you can take duromine for weight loss if it is monitored and taken appropriately. I believe that starting the duromine when I start my next health kick will show me the results to keep me motivated to allow me to mae some new healthier habits. Is it worth asking my doctor about this? Or will she not even consider me as I am on thyroxine?
