Can EBV Cause Changes To Mitochondrial DNA Disrupting The Immune System?

Can EBV cause changes to mitochondrial DNA which disrupt the immune system? I was diagnosed with scarlatina as a 3 year old in 1954 and now have a hyper active immune system which reacts to many chemical agents such as gluten, artificial sweeteners, alcohol (topical and ingested) to name a few.
