Can Eliquis Or Xarelto Be Taken Instead Of Pradaxa?

Yes, My Mother is on 150 mg of Pradaxa 2x's a day. She also takes 400 mg of phenytoin and 30 mg of dilantin per day along with 750 mg of Levetiracetam (Keppra) 2x's a day. Her insurance advises us that Pradaxa is no longer a preferred drug....it will more than double in price to $150.00/mo and that we should consider Eliquis or Xarelto. I am concerned about both of these drugs as it is advised a patient not take them if taking phenytoin/dilantin as it could make the blood thinner less effective. (although I must say there was a similar claim with using Pradaxa). Any thoughts or professional opinions? We do not want to play russian roulette with my Mother's meds but also cannot afford to pay $150.00/mo for one perscription. If forced to change we would be more inclined to try Eliquis as it will be $40.00/mo vs Xarelto which will be $80.00/mo.
My Mother has been on Pradaxa along with the other noted perscriptions at the dosages stated above now for about 3-1/2 years and other than an occassional "tia" or possible clotting like pain...all has been as good as can be expected. Mother has A-fib and chf.
Trying to decide what to do. Not happy with the insurance companies for making these changes.
