Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How are you? Can I use entamizole ds to treat my diarrhea? I have been egesting too watery stool since last two days after I ate some food which was in my fridge? I have been feeling thirsty and having smelly barfs and have just bought entamizole ds tablets after a friend recommended it but i am hesitant to use it.
You can take anti diarrheal like loperamide (Imodium), bismuth subsalicylate (Pepto-Bismol). Stay well hydrated, take ORS, Electrol, water, etc. If your diarrhea does not stop, visit the ER. You may need intravenous antibiotic and fluid infusions. You may need urgent medical support. Take food that will help to control diarrhea like raw bananas boiled taken with a little salt. Sabudana (sago) pudding in water with a little sugar, etc.
Get Stool (R/E and C/S) examination done. You will be treated with antibiotics accordingly (depending on the reports). Take adequate rest, stay away from addictions if any. When diarrhea stops take home made boiled food for a few days. Get liver function tests done to stay on the safer side.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
