Can Escitalopram Be Taken Before Driving?

HI, My doctor prescribed me Escitalopram for my anxiety issues, but one of the side effects is dizziness. I am at work now, what if i get that side effect and cannot drive when i get out? She prescribed this medicine to me about 4 weeks ago, but i have not taken yet because i m nervous i will get a side effect that will make me unable to drive.

The risk of cognitive and motor incoordination is there with escitalopram. The only precaution for this is to be cautious while operating heavy machinery.
The dizziness incidence is very rare with escitsalopram. This is what I would advice for my patient. Not to worry too much about the side effects and be cautious if they are operating heavy machineries. And regarding dizziness and driving, you are the best judge of your capabilities. Avoid driving if the dizziness is affecting your driving judgement. And let me remind you again that dizziness is a very rare(I hope the above information helps you.
