Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i curently was taking 4 oxycodene/acetamophen 5-325 daily and now got put on butrans patch 40 mg with 2 break through 2 oxy s daily. Not workingPain is still contant and has not changed. Is the butrans not as good as they say it is?.Is fentynal better for pain control and less harm on my liver.I do have hep c with no problems for years. My liver counts are perfect.I will be talking with my pain doctor again next week just wanted some additional advice on this matter.
Fentynal is obliviously better than Butrans. Hep C leads to chronic hepatitis which is painful condition. For Fentynal you should remember that the medicine is used only by people who have been taking an opioid or narcotic pain medicine for at least a week. i would suggest consult your doctor to start Fentynal.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pramod Kokare, General & Family Physician
