Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
After taking flagyl 250mg qd for 6 weeks, I had blood tests (different doctor) which indicated an AlkPhos level of 228 [N40-123]. The flagyl was prescribed for a recurring intestinal bacterial overgrowth. In your opinion, is the flagyl a possible reason for the elevated ALP?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, elevated value of ALP level may not be due to "Flagyl" because this is not the hepatotoxic drug, the reason for this may be due to something else liver pathology is very likely, but not the medicine that you are taking, hope this information helps, take care.
