Can Flexeril And Dilaudid Be Taken Together?

Can I give my 18 year old daughter Dilaudid if I have already given her a flexeril. This is for menstrual cramps and she is in severe pain. Our gyn said to try the flexeril this time around and it is not touching her pain but Dilaudid seems to help and at least allow her to sleep. We usually only need 1 does of this and it greatly helps, I am just worried about using it along with the flexeril. Thanks.

It would with pain control and the sedative effect would help her to sleep as you stated.

If her periods are regular the use of an NSAID, 3 to 4 days before her period is scheduled to start, may also be helpful as well because it reduces the production of the chemicals that play a role in causing pain.

In addition, you can consider the use of oral contraceptives. Hormonal contraception can be used solely for reducing the pain of a period. They also cause it to be lighter and last for a shorter period of time.
