Can Fluconazole Be Taken While On Lyrica And Topamax?

I have toenail fungus and nail fungus, my dermatologist had mentioned putting me on fluconazole if it got worse, it has spread. Would I be a candidate for this drug since i am on the fentanyl patch for intractable chronic migraines. I also take lyrica, topamax , clonazapam and lexapro. i have tried laser therapy and it still has not gotten any better, would there be any drug interactions with the fluconazole? I appreciate your response.

hi sir/mam,I appreciate your presence of mind about thinking of drug interactions.yes,fluconazole and fentanyl shouldn’t be used together.even lexapro and fluconazole don’t do well together.for fungal nail infection,most of my patients got relief with external application of nailon
and even without azoles .insted of fluconazole,you can request your dermatologist to use an alternative such as terbinafine topical cream or oral tablet. this doesn’t have any such interactions observed with fluconazole. I use a terbinafine at a dose of 250 mg once daily oral tablet for 6 weeks in case of finger nail infection and for 12 weeks in case of toe nail infection if they do not respond to a trial of topical terbinafine cream. the only prerequisite before starting terbinafine tablet is to ensure a normal renal and hepatic function by doing renal function test and liver function test. if you have any further query’s please let me know. thank you.
