Can Gabapentin, Warfarin And Digoxin Be Taken Together?
Yes please. My mother has been prescribed Gabapentin for restless legs together with Simemet, both of which she has been advised she can take up to 3 per day, building the dose up slowly and bring the dose down slowly. However, my mother has recently (10 days ago) dragged a sideboard and is still in a lot of pain. She has started taking divided doses of Gapapentin 8 per day to help the pain as the information leaflets mentions these can be taken for very severe pain. She also takes Warfarin and Digoxin. Is this safe for her to continue. Whilst she has had the pain for 10 days she has only recently increased the dosage of Gabapentin (3 days so far). Is this okay for her to continue?
There are no known interactions between the medications mentioned- warfarin, sinemet, gabapentin and digoxin, so they can be used safely together.
Gabapentin is used for some types of pain but not acute pain due to trauma unless it involves the spine and the nerves in that area. She can consider the use of tylenol to see if this helps relieve some of her discomfort.
She can continue the gabapentin as prescribed.
I hope this helps
