A friend of mine went to her Dr. And was prescribed gabapentin 400mg and 300mg three times a day. Along with lunesta , trazadone, amitripyline, baclofen, all these for her back. She s concerned about the combination of all of these medications together. She s got herniated disc, deterating disc, and tear between L5 and S1.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

All these pain killer can be taken together but I advise that at a time two pain killer are sufficient for relief of disc herniation and 9ther related issues.

Consumption of more pain killer may not have added advantage but dangerous more.

So continue with Gabapentin and baclofen. others can be stopped.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
