Can Galvus Met Cause Heart Disease, Weakness And Sleepiness In The Morning?

Hi, I am taking the Novartis Galvus met 50/1000 mg 2x a day morning & night, and I had A Rheumatic heart disease, is there any side effects on it? also after taking the medicine every morning I feel sleepy and sometime I m feeling weak, is there any relavant on taking that medicine and is there any other side effects on the parts of the body?

Hi.Can understand your concern.As per your query you are taking medicine for diabetes which is metformin..Sometimes it happens that glucose level goes very down in blood due to diet control as well as the medication.Due to this u may be feeling weakness or sleeplessness.this condition called hypoglycaemia.I suggest you to consult your treating doctor about this if there is any need for the dosage adjustment or change in medications...I hope the information helps you....Take care.
