1. codiene-guiphenesin is a cough suppresant and expectorant combination and used temporarily to treat chest congestion symptoms but not used for ongoing cough due to smoking, asthma,
emphysema.
2. take this medicine with or without food every 4-6 hours, and may cause withdrawl reactions, if it is used regularly for a long time, (anxiety, sweating, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea) and stopped suddenly.
3. do not take the said combination if:
. you are allergic to any ingredient or related medicine.
. you have
high blood pressure, rapid heart beat, or heart blood vessel disease.

benzonatate is a non-narcotic cough cough medicine which works by causing numbness in throat/lungs and making cough reflex less active, but never chew/suck on a benzonatate capsule as it may cause your mouth/throat to feel numb,
chest pain, confusion,
hallucinations.
