Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Dear doc, I have been using gynera as my regular contraceptive pill but when my husband went for a vacation outside i stop the pill for a while..now hes coming back and i need to take the pill again so i am waiting for my period..unfortunately since last march 28 my LMP unti now May 17 my menses didnt come yet..can i just use the gynera pill as morning after pill so to,avoid pregnancy.and how to use it Thanks needed your advise please.
Since you have missed your period you can get clinically examined by a gynecologist and get blood tests and investigations done to detect any anemia, thyroid problem, hormonal issues, PCOS, etc. You will be treated accordingly. If needed your gynae will give you medicines to regulate your periods. Take iron and calcium rich food, food rich in protein. Avoid stressful lifestyle or addictions if any. Take adequate rest.
Yes, you can start Gynera or any other regular CP for prevention of pregnancy like Ovral L. You should take 1 pill every day for 21 days (3 weeks) in a row. Then don't take any pills for seven days (week 4). You'll get your period during the fourth week while you aren't taking any pills. It's important to take every pill in a 21-day pack because there are no reminder (hormone-free) pills in Ovral L.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
