Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi!..I have been considering the hCG Diet , but I am a diabetic...and I have heard it can cause pancreatitis...Is it safe for me? (My blood pressure is just a bit high...plus I need to lose about 100# and feel that this will help my Diabetes ALOT!!)...Thank you!
Hello and welcome to HCM. May I give you the pros and cons of the HCG diet and you may evaluate and discuss them with your personal physician. The human growth hormone shots are illegal in the US for weight loss due to the side -effects shown with their use and their use has caused many an athlete to lose their position due to anti-doping regulations. The injections and diet together can cause blood clots and gallstones. The injections can also cause your own body to stop producing as much natural growth hormone which is responsible for muscle development, but may also bring out diabetes. Have you discussed a surgical option with your physician?
Take care with the new growth hormone pills coming out on the market. These pills, if they contain any brain matter from an animal (and frequently they do), may transmit disease. Total lifestyle change is the best route to go for slow and permanent weight loss. One of my patients just finished losing 130 pounds through meals planning alone, no exercise, which is unusual. It can be done. Be positive. Kathryn Shattler, MS,RDN
