Can HIV Be Transmitted Through A Used And Unclean Shaving Brush?
Hello sir yesterday I went barber shop for shaving. Barber used new blade but he applied shaving cream by uncleaned brush which contains Shaving cream on it. During first pass I got cut of my pimple. During second pass I started worrying about HIV. So please suggest me. Can HIV transfer by these kinds.
Theoretically if the brush has been in contact with the blood of a person with HIV and now gets in contact with a bleeding area on your face then there is chance of HIV infection. On the other hand these happen very rarely in reality.
For peace of mind i would recommend you to talk to your doctor and have a test done now for HIV and repeat it in 3-4 months. The test takes a while to come out positive so having a test now will tell you if you already have had HIV and repeating it later will tell if there was a contact with it recently or not.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
