Can HPV Grow Abnormal Cells On The Cervix Due To High Antibiotic Doses?
Hi If you have never had HPV and maybe get it through a partner, can being on high dosis of different antibiotics in a period of months make the HPV grow abnormal cells in the cervix fast for a doctor to detect it microscopically, as I know antibiotics kills your immune system so that it could kill the infections you are treated for. I have been on strong antibiotics, 2000 mg a day, in a period of 4 months plus an extremely strong antibiotic drip for a few days in this timeline, could this make that HPV grow abnormal cells on the cervix in a period of a few months?
Hi, I don't think there is any possibility of that. Antibiotics can't weaken your immune system. It can only kill the bacteria which is causing infection. So, there is no chance of increasing risk of abnormal cell growth. You can get a paps ssmear done to see if there are any abnormal cells in cervix. If it is normal, then don't worry about it. You can follow with repeat paps smear yearly.
