Can Harvoni Cause High Lipase Levels In Blood?

I finished up an 8 week course of Harvoni 6 27 16 I was having mild stomach distress which escalated last week. Several tests were run showing an elevated Lipase level of 600 a week later 490. I was checked for pancreas and gallbladder issues all negative. I have seen chatter that harvoni can cause elevated levels of Lipase any knowledge of this?

Hello,

I under your concern. It is statistically proven that Harvoni treatment causes a lipase increase up to three times the normal level in 1% of patients taking it for at least 8 weeks. However, this increase is only temporary and is not manifested with any symptoms.
I recommend you repeat the tests in two weeks and fee if the lipase levels are heading down to normal levels.

Wishing you all the best
