Can Hydromet Be Taken Along With Tylenol Or Alka- Seltzer?

I am 48, male, and took first dose of hydromet as a cough suppressant and sleep aid. It was prescribed by my doctor along with a antibiotic for a sinus infection. I took 5mg of the hydromet 2 hours ago, and I'm wide awake and restless. I am exhausted but can't fall asleep. I am considering Tylenol PM or AlkaSeltzer nighttime to help me sleep. My question is should I mix the hydromet with either of these two? I am 215 lbs and in good health. Thanks.

Hydromet may cause harmful effects if taken along with Tylenol PM.

1. Hydromet contains an anticholinergic (Homatropine) & an opioid (Hydrocodone) is used for the symptomatic relief of cough.

2. Alka-Seltzer contains a pain reliever (Aspirin) and an antacid commonly used for the symptomatic relief of headache, body aches, heartburn, indigestion or stomach acidity.

3. Tylenol PM contains combination of a pain reliever and pain reducer (Acetaminophen) & an antihistamine (Diphenhydramine) used to treat headache, runny nose, sneezing, watery eyes, and pain or fever caused by allergies, the common cold, or the flu.

Taking Diphenhydramine (Tylenol PM) together with Hydrocodone (Hydromet) may increase side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, and difficulty concentrating. It may also cause impairment in thinking, judgement, and motor coordination which may result in falls and injuries.

So, in view of the above avoid taking Hydromet along with Tylenol PM.
