Hi Fereeha,
Thanks for asking in Healthcare Magic.

It is always better not to interfere with your menstrual cycle when it is regular. Since you are young and yet to start a family, don't opt for postponement of period for a long time unless it is utmost essential and don't repeat this frequently.

You can take oral contraceptive pills (OCP) which contain 28 pills. But you can start taking them only after you get periods. So, the ideal method is to take progesterone preparations like Norethindrone (mini pill) atleast before expected period and can be continued as long as required and menstrual bleeding starts within a week. You can start it on june 13th and continue up to july 10th.

Progesterone level accumulates once it is taken regularly preventing the onset of menstruation. Once you stop taking them, its level falls resulting in withdrawal bleeding. The problem is your next period may be irregular and it may take a while till your menstrual cycle is regularized. You may experience nausea, bloating sensation and breast tenderness while you take the tablet as these are the common side effects seen in majority of women taking progesterone.

I hope this is useful to you.

Hi thanks for your question.
Yes you can delay your periods upto a time you want.Delaying periods for 15 days to month is not associated with much problems but delaying beyond one month is associated with more side effects due to drug which is used to delay the periods. You can delay your periods by taking a drug called as norethisterone.Norethisterone is progesterone hormone. It is taken 3 times a day 3 to 4 days before your expected periods. This is prescription drug. You need a prescription from a physician for this drug.
Hope this answers you question.
