Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am getting over a concussion. CAT and MRI were okay. However, still having symptoms of dizziness, nausea, vomiting, but they are not constant. I am scheduled to take an airline trip in 2 weeks (10 hours), is it safe to travel at this time? Or should I break-up the flight time: 3hrs to Denver & 6 hrs to my final destination? Thank-you.
General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hai Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. ECG should be taken to rule out dysrrhythmias also. Taking anti vertigo medications like mecliziine will be helpful in such case. Taking such medications when you are traveling will be helpful to abort its occurrence. Breaking up the flight time if possible is better. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
