Can I Get HIV By Condom Breakage During Sex?
6 weeks ago I had intercourse with a prostitute. I used condom. but it was borken , i took it off when i heard sound, but it took 20 to30 seconds to realize, i had tridot hiv test today and came back as negitve, please let me know my chance of getting infected and how accurate the 6 weeks tridot test?

Thank you for query.The chances of transmission of HIV by sexual route is 1/ 200 to 1/2000 even if the partner is HIV infected.It is least as you have protected intercourse.if condom breakage occurs the chances of secretions coming in contact is still less for males.Tridot test is negative is good but it is not conclusive by 6 weeks.I do not see possibility of HIV infection.You can go for HIV RNA PCR at this stage for allaying your anxiety with HIV.else you can go for ELisa after 3-4 months.You can get back to me for any clarifications with the details.Dr Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist and Venereologist

I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. You are exposed to risk. So yoy have chance of getting hiv infection. Your tridot test is negative but its not 100% sure. You should go for confirmatory hiv testing once. You can go with pcr gor hiv. It will clear all doubt.
