nicotine in cigarretes is the major reason for lung cancer but neverthless mirjuana smoking has its own disadvantages as it causes memory deficits and based on some research doctors have found that testicular cancer has been linked to marijuana  smoking so it is wise to avoid marijuana too

The Tar content which is mainly responsible for abnormal lung functioning is 8 times more in marijuana smoke. so yes you can get lung cancer from chronic use of marijuana.
