Can I Give A Cough Medicine With Codeine?

my 7 year old son has a bad cough. He is on antibiotics and just took a nebuliser treatment of asthalin and the doctor asked him to take asthalin syrup too. He is coughing non stop. How can he sleep at night. Asthalin is an expectorant so the cough keeps on coming. I was wondering if he could take a cough medicine with codine to help him sleep at night. what do you suggest

Hi.... Many thanks for consulting in Health Care Magic. Asthalin is not an expectorant.. It actually reduces wheeze. Codeine safety is not established in pediatric age group. As such cough us a protective reflex. I suggest you not to use codeine.Hope my answer was helpful for you. Happy to help anytime. Further clarifications and consultations on Health Care Magic are welcome.
