Can I Give Nor-metrogyl Syrup To Baby Passing Frequent Green Watery Stools?
my 5months 4days old son is having frequent green watery stools for last two days almost all the time.. He seems a bit lazy and weak too.. I gave him a dose of 2.5ml of Nor-metrogyl syrup once.. Is it safe? Please advise

Noted the history of your 5 months old son having frequent green watery stool for last 2 days, bit lazy and weak too, given 2.5 ml syrup of Nor-Metrogyl, wants to know whether this is safe and wants advise. Since your son is just 5 months, you should not take any risk as young kids can go into dehydration and septicemia very fast and the dosages are always as per the weight of the child.I would advise you the following:
- Take the baby to the Pediatrician for clinical evaluation, examination and investigations to get the proper position and to get the proper prescription based treatment. Will also need probiotic.
- If the baby is breast fed, the nipples should be cleaned with evaporative spirit to kill the bacteria on the nipples.
- If bottle fed, sterilize everything related to the feeding well so that the problem is not repeated. Also see what are the things that the baby touches and puts in mouth.
