Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi. my son is 5 years old and had on and off watery stools. we gave probiotics but of no help. he also has developed aversion for food and nausea. i started on nor-metrogyl from yesterday 7.5ml. his weight is 23kgs. please suggest. stool routine is normal.
As long as the stool tests resulted normal, then, your child is having stomach viral infection (with watery stools).
It is good that you started nor-metrogyl. Please bare in mind that oral therapy will take up to 2 days to show effectiveness. So, you might need time for the improvement to come.
Meanwhile, I suggest to start taking: - tasectan for watery stools - otc o.r.s to prevent dehydration - give him plenty of water - keep good hygienic measures (wash hands).
