Can I Have Abnormal Thyroid Despite A Normal TSH?

I want to know what tests besides TSH to ask for to determine thyroid problem. My doctor will not help since that test was "normal" although higher than it used to be, I have many of the symptoms and cannot lose the 50 pounds I have gained over last 7 or 8 years, no matter what I do.

Dear user
There are a lot of thyroid test for different type of thyroid problems. For example for the hypo or hyperthyroidism generally the necessary blood test are TSH,free T3 and free T4.Every thyroid pathology have specific test that are important for the final diagnosis.
So i need more details about your thyroid disease,to say what test are required (besides TSH) to determine your actual thyroid state.
Hope I have answered your question. If you give me further information about your thyroid problem, I will be happy to help.
Wish you good health.
