Can I Have Sexual Intercourse While Suffering From Tuberculosis?

I am amreen jahan from hyderabad.i m 21 years old n my weight is 64 kgs.my husband s name is altaf and he is suffering from tuberculosis.he is 30years and weighted 75kgs.can we have have a sexual intercourse as my husband is suffering from tuberculosis?

Mrs. Amreen, It seems that your husband is suffering from pulmonary (chest)tuberculosis.
Firstly he should get his sputum test (THOOK KI JANCH) for TB done from any DOTS centre which is free.if he has already been diagnosed as TB +ve.then he should start antitubercular treatment from nearest DOTS centre which is completely free. DOTS treatment takes few weeks to clear patient from tuberculosis but hes has to continue treatment for about six months to get rid of TB completely. TB transmits from one person to other as droplet infection (through air or using handkerchief of pt).
Sexual intercourse in TB is safe but both of you should use face masks and avoid kissing till about two months of treatment or he becomes sputum negative as apreventive measure.
