Can I Lift Heavy Things After Inserting Stent In The Artery?
I am 41 years old male and had a stent installed due to 99% blockage in main artery they nickname the widowmaker. I was told I was days from death. I have never smoked weigh 185lbs at 5" 9" and have been running about 3 days a week for exercise prior to chest pains. I have never had any other medical problems ever. My question is that my doctors has told me that I can never ever lift anything over 20 lbs for rest of my life which will cause me to lose my job as it requires some moderate to sometimes heavy lifting. Trying to find answers why??
You should avoid lifting heavy weights as the blood supply to the heart remains compromised to some extent even after insertion of the Stent . The lumen of a Stent is always narrow than the vessel in which it has been inserted.
