Can I Lift Weight With History Of Spontaneous Pneumothorax?
Can I lift heavy stuff, like lifting heavy weights in the gym or do boxing after I had a Spontaneous Pneumothorax 6 years ago I had blebs removed from both lungs and stuck to the chest wall, my right lung operated 6 years ago and left lung operated 3 years ago. Also are there any limits to what I could do e.g. Scuba Diving etc.
Thanks for your question on HCM. In my opinion you can definitely do all the things but to a certain limit. At present you are not having symptoms, so you can do weight lifting, gyming etc. But not very heavily. Upto the comfort level you can perform anything. But if you start chest pain or coughing or breathlessness or any chest discomfort than better to stop the activity and take rest and get done chest x ray. About scuba diving I advice you to avoud it. As in scuba pressure changes are high so chances of development of pneumothorax are high. So better to avoid it.
