Can I Stop Taking Amoxicillin, Clavam, Benzo And Antidepressants Given For Major Depression And Anxiety?
I took amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium combination medicime, clavam 625 for 5 days. Last 2 days I am having insomnia and anxiety. Doctor prescribed nexito 5 mg, but it hasnt helped much. I took 9 tablets of clavam 625 and have decided to stop it now. I was prescribed it for ear infect.
I had major depression 2 years back and had taken antidepressants and benzo related medicines. but 18 months i was absolutely fine, sleeping well and no helth issues.
Will stopping the antibitoic solves the problem, or i will need medication for anxiety.

Usually, clavam does not cause insomnia and/or anxiety. Do not worry about such side effect.
It might cause any abdominal discomfort, including bloating or changes in your bowel movement. These symptoms might have caused insomnia or anxiety to you.
If you have these bowel problems (which is normal and will go after treatment will finish), please
- take otc probiotic
- consult with your doctor to start anti-mycotic therapy to ease your symptoms
- drink plenty of water
