Suggest Treatment For Severe Depression And Anxiety Despite Taking Buspar
My practioner prescribed Buspar 7.5 mg 2 weeks ago paired with 60 mg of cymbalta prescribed for major depression. I took 7.5 twice daily for a week. Then I bumped it to 15 mg twice daily. She prescribed it because I was having a lot of anxiety but depression was better. I have a history of major depression and panic attacks etc. my anxiety symptoms seem exacerbated instead of better. How long do I have to ride it out for these symptoms to improve or will they?
The treatment regimen must have been decided by your doctor according to your symptoms.
Please don't expect improvement in a fortnight. They are just waxing and waning. Drugs take around 3 weeks to achieve blood levels. Continue your drugs with good compliance. If you stop them abruptly, symptoms will return and with increased intensity. Do meditation, relaxation techniques, belly breathing and regular exercise. Get psychological counselling too.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
