Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have ADD and am 61 years old. I have been on Adderall 30 mg twice a day. I am building up a tolerance for that dosage. It is recommended 30mg a day, but it does not say you can t go higher or it is illegal. I want to go Adderall 30 mg 3 x a day. What should I say to my psychiatrist?
Maximum effective dose of adderall is 60mg and you have been taking same dose. It would be better if you stay on same dose, otherwise it could lead to side effects like arrhythmia, chest pain, heart attack, headache, anxiety symptoms due to its stimulant effect. I would not suggest you for higher dose, that is risky for you.
Thanks
