Can I Take Azithromycin And Doxycycline For Treating Epididymitis?

If you were diagnosed with Epidiidymitis but were negetive for clamidia does it make sense to take Azithromycin 1 gm 1 time and also doxycycline hylcate 100mg twice for 10 Days. Or it the doxycycline only make sense if you have climidia and the epdidiymitis can be treated with only the axithromycin 1 gm? THe reason I ask is I was given both but my results are not back for climidia.

Good Day and thank you for being with healthcare magic!

Yes azithromycin and doxycycline is used to treat for chlamydia infection. I would suggest going back to your physician and showing him the results that it is negative, he might prescribe you with an anti-microbial instead (e.g. ciprofloxacin etc.)

regards,
