Can I Take Biotin For Hair-loss?

i am 40 yrs woman 5ft 5 inches weight 74kgs.i have no medical history of any illness..just that have noticed that i am loosing a lot of hair in the past 2 years,havent taken any treatment for this yet.my hair quality is not so good though it is smooth and soft.just wanted to know if i could take biotin tablets and if yes what the name of the tablet and its dosage.Thank you.
