Can I Take Topamax For Seizure Disorder While Experiencing Nausea And Stiff Neck?
I was thrown to the bottom of a three foot pool last evening that sits on a concrete patio pad...it happened so fast, but I remember that it hurt so bad. I didn't lost consciousness, but immediately I had swelling on the right, top side of head and red patches appeared. No bleeding however. I was dizzy and my right hand was shaking. I never experienced any nausea or sickness. This morning, my eyes are swollen and I have a very stiff neck. I am on Topamax for a seizure disorder and migraines with aura...should I be checked by neurologist?
Hello and Thanks for posting your query on Healthcaremagic.
Hi, I had gone through the problem and looks like you have trivial head injury probably extending to the neck causing swollen eye, stiff neck and scalp contusion. Shakes in the right hand may be anxiety related or rarely a focal seizure due to head injury. You also have dizzy spells which indicate possibility of labrynthine dysfunction. Based on the severity of the imapct and the nature of symptoms I personally feel you need to see a Neurologist or a Neurosurgeon at the earliest. You can continue on topamac for your seizures and migraines with aura.
Wish you daughter a good health. I hope this helps you. If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
Sincerely,
Dr. Shiva Kumar R. Consultant Neurologist & Epileptologist Bangalore, India.
